Default What is this sensor?

Doing an engine swap and never knew what this sensor senses.

There is also another sensor that was never connected to a wire but was always on the engine, it is on the passenger side where the headers go. It is a 7/8 nut, there is one like this on the driver side but the one on the driver side is a 13/16 nut and shows what the engine temp is.

Oh, I thought the pressure sensor was the one next to the oil filter. Also I updated the first post for another sensor I didn't know about

my oil pressure sensor looks just like that and is down near the filter. Some cars just had an oil pressure light and no gauge. That would be a smaller sensor, not sure if some years had both. The other sensor on the cylinder head is a coolant temp sensor. My 74 originally had one on each side. One was used for the temp gauge (drivers side) the other was used for emissions stuff I have since removed

Yeah there is another sensor on the bottom next to the oil filter too but, it's like a smaller version of the coolant temp sensor. it might be oil temp next to the filter then. The engine I've removed isn't original to 81'

It can be on either of those holes. corvettes usually have the bottom one. and the top one is plugged.
sometimes the one on the bottom is plugged because of exhaust or steering linkage from other cars. some people think the top one gives better reading
its likely one of those is not reading anything, and ius just acting as a plug.

edit: heres a pic. a quick search shows that some cars had a oil temp maybe one is for temp? im confused now too lol
mine looks like the one below 77 small block

If I remember correctly my block numbers showed it was made in like 93 or something, I would have to check again. I do know that most of the numbers on the block are faded out so i had to decipher what it was based on where certain characters were.

On another note I looked at my gauges and I have oil temp 🙃. I've had the car for nine years and you would think I would have caught that lol 😆. Thank you all for the help!!!
