Newbie with door lock question

The lock problem. Is it with the outside key lock or the inside door handle lock. Makes a difference as to what the problem could be.

I would start by pulling the door panel. That is if you can actually open the door as you say you can't unlock it. if its a rod not connected or adjusted correctly, that should be obvious once you can get a look at the rods. if everything looks good. try unhooking the rod from the key lock or inside lock. (We really don't know which or both doesn't work). and see if the key turns the lever or **** turns the lever. and go from there. As per auto door locks. I don't know anything about them. my car is to old for such nonsense. However, I would make certain any solenoids are unhooked. could be holding your lock on.

no rod for outside door lock. looking down from above. now your left door smells like onions. anyway, if you install the lock and miss the shaft it is supposed to fit, it can push the lock lever one way, but not pull it the other.

The Inner Door Panel has hidden screws here & there.
One behind the inner handle, front door jamb & rear door jamb, etc.
Check out YouTube, C3 door panel removal for some hints.
You may need a two ft long flexible magnet. Clips will fall door inside the door. (several times)
