I have Doug's but basically the same setup as Hookers. You are not going to be able to install it in the preferred position unless you go through the frame. Someone on here has done that but after looking at what needed to be done to route it that way, I chose to mount it in the header collector just forward of the side pipe with a slight upward angle. Here is what it looks like.

I did the same as yours for the same reason.

You used to be able to buy an OBX version of these pipes that actually had the o2 bungs welded in already. I remember seeing them on ebay years ago.

I read that as well. I even purchased one of the few weldless clamp on bung kits for installing one on a primary but I've read the different cylinders are not even. Especially with a dual plane intake and different length runners.
Of course in your case if your installing EFI, your probably using the recommended single plane intake manifold anyway.

Where does the EFI kit say to put it? On my kit there was a certain distance from the cylinder head, not too close and not too far.

Innovative recommends a minimum of 24 inches downstream of the exhaust port and mounted in the 3 00 or 9:00 a clock positions.

As I recall mine (F.A.S.T.) had a maximum as well (to keep hot, but not too hot) and wanted it at between 10:00 and 2:00 so as not to collect condensation.

You don't need to go into the pipe at 3:00 to make the sensor level. Put it level into the of the pipe at the 4:30 to 5:00 position by cutting the bung at an angle.

Sniper wants it about 10 inches after the collector and from the 3:00 to 1:00 position so that it wont get water fouled and Im sure all the other EFI manufacturers requirements are probably the same. If you dont have a choice, you dont have a choice about the moisture clocking....

3:00 is the angle the sensor should be at, not the location on the pipe where it needs to be installed.

Mine is the same as pictured above and I used this HEATSINK to help prevent moisture damage. It's pricey but works. You can get a slight downward angle, or at least level, by doing what lionelhutz said above.
