Default C3 Rear Flexible Brake Line Replacement

I have bought new rear flexible brake lines. When installing them into the brass block they bottom out early (about 1/16 inch). I am being told that I must also replace the brass block. This does not seem right. Is this correct or what might the issue be?

I can't see a thing. But just guessing, sounds like a flare is in the way of an incorrect hose, maybe?

Update;
And no, its not right. You do not have to change-out the brass. Those things will last a century.
I question the new part. I question the person who sold it to you.
A 1/16 of an inch is not many threads for a leak-free joint / connection Somethings not right here.

It's been awhile sense I changed all of mine. But what makes you think the thread should bottom? Thought these were inverted flare.

Never heard of having to replace the splitter block to put new lines on.
Check and measure, they are inverted flares, they should "bottom out" before the threads run out or it'll never seal

Do you have the old hoses to compare with the new hoses...take measurements of the ends and compare.
Copper washers are used on older cars between the caliper and the threaded end of the hose.
Do your old hoses have smashed copper washers on the threaded ends?

Bottoming out after screwing in a 1/16 of an inch? Isn't this the symptom of incorrect threads? New hose.......metric threads?

Also about those brass blocks. At least for new SS lines, the recommendation is to install new brass blocks. That's what I've read, so that's what I've always done. The procedure, for SS, is to torque the nut up tight, back off a flat, torque up tight again, back off a flat, then torque up to the full recommended torque. This is to work the SS surface into the brass surface for a leak proof seal.

Are they in backwards. THe set I got from CSSBinc bolted right in. No issues at all. Must be the wrong part or cheap chinese crap. Did you buy it from autozone or ORiellys. Maybe Amazon? Most of these places are going all chinese. I've gotten my calper rebuild kits and all my Stainless brake lines form these guys. Every bit replaced except for the blocks. Always fit perfectly and never an issue....unlike the parts stores that always sell me something that is supposed to fit my big block....like motor mounts that dont fit....How can you screw up a motor mount???
