So my question now, cast alloy Rallye wheels are made (or sold) by several names including American Racing, Vision Wheels and Year One. From past experience I know that many times things are made in one or two associated locations in asia and then sold as several different brands. Of these three brands they are similarly priced but for the Visions which can be near the same price to as much as half price of the others. So, my question obviously is does anyone know if the Vision/AM Racing/Year One wheels may be made by the same manufacturer? They're on the low end of the price spectrum anyway, and I don't mind paying 1k for $1k wheels, but I don't want to pay $1k for $500 wheels! A few reviews on the net and most are favorable but only one bad one I saw was of the Vision Wheels not being hub or lug centric , and there are more that are very favorable. I called Vision and they seemed like a reputable company and stand behind their products. But again if they're all made in the same place I'd like to know.
Anyone with experience with any of these?
Get hubcentric...I got some Pacer (may be vision now??) yrs ago they were absolute garbage, 2 sets couldnt get a straight one...2 werent even round.
Learned my lesson on cheap; In 50 miles they destroyed all 4 brand new tires tread was separating.
My understanding is that they are not all made in same factory although a couple may be the case. The wheels are different (some Chinese products are alll the same and just stick on different brands/ logos), some will only accept thier own center cap while others will accommodate the OEM cap.
I cannot speak for these wheels, but I know personally in the past, I got what I paid for in cheap wheels.
Vette rallyes dont fit snug on the hub? thats a new one. Never had luck with lugcentric they loosen over time.
They do make plastic and steel rings to center it on the hub though.
I see a LOT of aftermarket wheels with too much runout its pathetic. Bought some Welds and thought "great made in USA". The tire shop guys pointed at the label and laughed as I had them spun before mounting anything.
A cheap hyundai factory spare was put on next, it was perfect.
