Hi,
can someone enlighten me why my engine has another hole for water on the passenger side for my waterpump as according to the supplier I bought the electric waterpump from, it should only have the two bolt holes. Hence they claim comparability but obviously it wont work… There is an extra hole here which ends up below the back plate While every electric waterpump for sb350 has this look
Research what the lower hole in the engine block is for....
IF It it will not cause an overheating problem....tap the lower hole for a threaded pipe plug and use teflon tape to seal the threads.
Then bolt the electric pump in place.
The lower hole is a coolant bypass hole to keep water circulating through the block when the thermostat is fully closed, like at startup. My 406 Dart SHP block does NOT have this hole, and Dart says it is not required.

yes I found that out from youtube. What I am curious too is that every electric pump doesnt have the bypass while the engine appearently has it. So the pump manufacturers just generally assume people block it?🤷♂️
I’ll drill a few holes in the stat and plug the bypass and that will have to be it😂🤷♂️
