No need to add lead or a substitute unless you tow with your car or really drive it hard all the time. Do a search of the C-2 and C-3 forums for more information. Jerry
Do you know if it had recent headwork? If so, there's a good chance there's hardened seats. If the car runs fine, and you're not putting a lot of mileage, Id stay away from any additives.
The only heads I have ever seen that had exhaust seat damage were off of a 1969 C60 Dump Truck with 300,000 mile son it that also had a PTO for some kind of pump....it would run for hours and days...so more like 600,000 miles on it......even then the seats were only down about .030-.040......
This is something I worried about when I got my first classic too. After a lot of research, I found it best for me to use 90 octane gas with no eth. I also use high zinc oil such as Lucas hot rod & classic with high zinc. No problems.
