I have installed a Baer remaster to my 1973 corvette and I have not been able to get it to work properly. I know the brake lines are different sizes 3/8 and 1/4 on the stock master cylinder & the remaster has two 3/8 lines exiting our. So I replaced the rear 1/4 brake line going from the MC to the promotion valve(pv) with a 3/8 lines with new PV fitting. I am confident all air is out of the system and the rear brakes will not engage which is making the brake pedal go to the floor. My next step is taking to baer and replacing their reMC second step going back to my stock set up. I also thought about having a bad PV but if it was bad wouldn’t the rear brakes only engage and not the front? If any one has installed a remaster on their C3 I would love to hear from them. I have a 1973 350sb with power brakes and a brake booster.
Check that the rod from the booster is the correct length. There are adjustable rods available or you could make one from a piece of bar stock.
You should only have a very small gap (1/32"+) between the end of the rod and the mc piston.
Yea, that"s the tool. They got you a bit at $49.
Anyway, why did you change the master cylinder?
What problems were you having?
Does the new mc have the correct bore size for a pb car?
When my booster went bad, the brake pedal was very hard, but the brakes barely worked.
Baer only offers the one inch and wants you to extend the Booster plunger thing. Bottom line: I think my MC is a no good. I’m going to send it back. Thank you the help. I’ll update you when I get the new MC.
