I picked up a project C3, 1970 T-top, this past weekend and it came with two steering columns. The car is intact for the most part but the interior was pretty much gutted however I have a lot of the parts. I'm baffled if either of these or maybe both are Corvette columns. The car is an automatic. Build sheet is gone so I can't confirm what I have. I believe the one in front is a tilt/tele possibly with parts missing?? The one in back has aftermarket parts added to it. Any ideas out there what I might have!!
The lower one is a late 1969 to 1975 column. For your 1970, there should be a rectangular raised "lock" by the tumbler. If it has oval ends, then it's a 1972 to 75. Not a bid deal unless you need it correct for judging.
Not sure what the upper column is from, definetely not from any C3.
For rebuilding information go to Jim Shea’s Papers on Steering Columns. I believe he worked at the Saginaw Division that made all the columns for GM. His papers are by far the best out there.
