Question for you Auto-to-Manual Tranny conversion Mechs: Is that square-drive plugged hole where the Z-Bar's end pivot ball screws in to?
Thanks.

That's what it looks like to me too. But I am ignorant to the manual tranny setup.Originally Posted by bashcraft
No, that's a pipe plug in an oil port.

Thanks.

If by chance you are unable to drill and tap your block, all is not lost. A bracket is made to position the ball stud that bolts to the bell.

About time I check my block more closely.

Much appreciated John.

Yup that's it. I used one on a friends 74 years ago......it did the trick but because it put the stud a little further off the block, the z bar had to be made shorter to fit. Originally Posted by Cavu2u

Since I have to weld the outer Z-bar end bracket on the frame, I could compensate any extra length there.
