I bought a set of ajustable struts to replace the stock struts on my 1970... no instructions came with them, but it shouldn't be rocket science... I do have a question though... each strut has a right/left sticker on each end... I assume that right is the passenger side and left is the driver side, so does that mean that on the driver side strut the (L) will be at the lower level attachment point and the (R) will be up at the differential? And on the passenger side strut, the "L" will be up at the differential and the "R" will be at the lower level attachment?
Just curious why there is a R/L and whether I'm describing the correct placement of each one.
This picture isn't my car and it's taken from the rear of a car, but just as an example of the R/L placement... Is this correct?

I'm assuming the L&R is just the description of the threads.
Also, Poly strut rods frequently have an issue with loosening the lock nuts due to the angle changes (and binding) that the struts go through with suspension movement.
I have adjustable strut rods, and the L&R as stated are the adjustment of the threads turning towards the wheels to pull them inwards. You can use either rod, either way, but I was consistent with lefts and rights. Just be sure to really tighten the jam nuts. Drive a few days, then recheck them.

Just curious...
I'm a newbie and started a thread on C2 mod suggestions.
I really like the adj. rod idea and wondering, about the rear carrier labeled (I think) "Speed Direct" and
attached monoleaf. What performance/handling/safety benefits and cost? Also is there a rear sway
bar used on C2 's?
Thanks,

Don't know about C2's, but that is a Speed Direct aluminum rear carrier cover, 12 lbs. less than stock. The leaf spring is a 430 lb. composite VBP mono spring, only weighs 6 lbs. vs. the 43 lb. stock steel one. Performance benefits depend on your driving use (drag, road race, street, etc.).

Thanks for those who mentioned what the L/R was for... makes sense now...
Hi all. My stock strut rod bushings are shot and want to spend a little bit (not a lot) more to go adjustable. I've seen other postings warning against welded ends (vs. forged). Can anyone comment on if there's a legitimate issue with welded ends? I'm seeing Corvette Central is selling the ones with welded ends. Can I please get your opinions on the various retailers to consider? I know VB&P appears to be out of business. TIA!
