Have you ever noticed that the radiator fan does not have the pale parts equidistant (angularly)?
So I tell myself that there must be a good reason? But what !
thank you for the link, and in addition I have my answer for the balancing:The fan blades are spaced such that the center of mass is placed exactly on the fan axis to minimize fan vibration
In aerospace we call the noise phenomenon a "one per rev harmonic".
Equally spaced blades when traveling over a strake or other obstruction may create a noise harmonic,
All Chevy fans are ASSYMETRIC for that very reason.

Unk
Well....except the 69' 427/400 fan.....which sounds like seven dump trucks screaming in first gear through your cul de sac.......
