In the middle of completing my installation of borgeson box on my 73, was able to collapse the shaft after a few wacks and have the steering coupler loose installed.
Did not want to drill into the steering column to secure the set screw for the kit provided borgeson flange.
I decided to ream out the stock existing column steering flange holes to match the bolts on the the borgeson box coupler and use the stock existing column flange to mate with the new borgeson box coupler.
The borgeson column steering flange is about 1/32 thicker than the stock. Stock column flanger to borgeson box coupler
This made the installation a little easier and I dont see any issue with doing this.
Just looking for a little feedback opinions welcome.

I did the Borgeson. I am sure you will love it. Truly makes the car a pleasure to drive. I also had to modify the coupling a bit. You will be fine. With the new Borgeson there isn't any stress on that joint. After I installed the Borgeson I had the front aligned. I took it to a guy that knew what he was doing. We discussed the best alignment for this setup.
Appreciate your feedback will continue with installation.
Will be a while until I drive it need motor and transmission rebuild one of those never ending projects most of us are familiar with.
