Default Tuning help

Recently I acquired a '74 C3 convertible. Numbers matching 350cid. Was running rough and thought I'd do a turn up on it. Decided to replace points with a Mallory electrnoc ignition upgrade and new plugs and wires. Still runs a bit rough, and was curious if I need to replace/upgrade the coil as well. And also, should I use different size wires other than the 6mm OEM type.

Have you checked the fuel filter? Is the gas fresh?

What are the spark plugs gapped at? What did you set the timing at 3000 rpm?

You need to look at everything. Compression check, plugs, coil (HEI has the coil attached). Everything here is easy to check out, just takes time. I presume you have a repair manual. I would do that compression check!

H-m-m-m-m-: New plugwires.
I assume you triple checked the firing order. But almost as important is to keep #5 and #7 plug wires as far apart from each other as possible. Especially with thin 6.5 cables. Those two have a tendency to crossfire because of the firing order. Its called Inductive Crossfire.

What is the timing set to? Is the vacuum advance plugged into manifold vacuum? Please post some photos!
