Ordering Tremec, what else should I get?
TR-3550
Speedometer drive/adapter with gear (manual)
Yoke (63-82 Corvettes)
Backup light switch
Stock transmission mount (rubber)
plug (since I dont have a computer)
I will have the driveshaft shortened at a local shop and that will include new U-joints.
A shifter handle and **** will have to be hunted up.
Does anyone know how big a spacer will be needed on the shifter handle to locate it properly?
I must be forgetting something, what is it?
Any installation tips (especially those that do not include crossmember removal) would be appreciated.

It also came with several things that the other one charges for like the speedometer conversion.
One thing you will need to aquire is a Detachable Front Yoke from Mark Williams Enterprizes. It's about 215.00 and a must have to put a Tremec in a Corvette. This yoke also uses a 3350 U-joint so you will have to either use a two size U-joint or change the rear yoke also and make a driveshaft with 3350's on both ends. (This is what I am doing).
The shifter can be spaced or a stick may be bent to work. Any Mustang T-5 trans shifter will work. Do a serch on TKO or ask GransportC-3 where he got his from. I purchased mine from Hanlon's, I got a PRO 5.0 shifter and stick from them.
A crossmember change is part of it also.
This is just a general overview. Do a Forum Serch and there is a lot of info and more specific details available. JIM
The Tremec has a web on the bottom of the tailhousing that needs to be trimmed off.
The mounting pad is located the same distance back as that on a 700R4. I used a mounting bracket from Bow-Tie Overdrives but others have said that they have stopped selling that bracket.
If you have a 4spd with welded crossmember, you either have to make the crossmember removable or oull the engine and install the engine and tranny as a unit. I did this and used a Centerforce Dual Friction clutch.
Enlarge the shifter hole and cover up the old one. To make the shifter come through the stock console, I had the stock shifter cut and welded and then bolted on a shortened Hurst handle:
I have about 5000 miles on this tranny and it is great.
BTW: Mike Forte mentioned that he might start offering console plates with the Tremec shift pattern. You might want to ask him.
FYI: Other info that I found out the other night. Forte's Tremec uses a special GM input shaft made especially for him by Tremec. Another GM Tremec vendor (Dark Horse Performance in Seattle) makes their own input shafts. Don't know where Hanlon gets theirs from.

"Hanlon Motorsports can provide you with a new T5, Tremec 3550, TKO or TKO II transmission." so YES to your question.
Includes:
- Transmission
- Rear-mount stock shifter
- Hardware
- Speedo adapter
- Standard yoke *
*Corvette requires special yoke
They are cheaper and some of the things the others charge for a free from them. So you have to consider this decreases the cost of overall purchase.
On the question about the input shaft, I considered this and the difference is that the original input shaft is chucked into a lathe and turned back just a little and down in pilot size. I couldn't see where this would create a problem.
I was very well pleased with my purchase from them. I haven't installed mine yet, I also have the Centerforce set up to go in my car. The shifter I purchased is the PRO 5.0 and it comes with a stick, very slick set up. JIM
