You do not need that EGR, they never work half the time and yours being rusted the bladder is probably frozen!
I pulled it off and the PO had put a screw in the vacuum line so it hasn't been functioning anyways. I did try to manipulate the bladder and the rubber surrounds on the diaphragm is definitely deteriorated. I'm just going to pull it off and put a cover plate on it.
Oh it's definitely a project. The car has been parked since 2005. I had it running and driving again until I popped the carb off to clean and rebuild. While it's off, I'm going to do some good cleaning under the hood, replace vacuum lines, paint, and just generally dress it up a little bit.
You can buy a block off or even an older manifold that looks identical but has no EGR provision or you can go to a 2101 Edelbrock Performer.
