Greetings, My heater valve has the hard vacuum line disconnected and melted/sealed off. Is the valve normally open and vacuum activated closed? Meaning heat until vacuum applied?
TIA
I found a thread that states its always on and vacuum operated off. Next question is what to do about the thin hard vacuum lines? Are they available? How about the end fittings for them? I see corvette central sells a kit but its only rubber hose. Do I just replace all the hard lines with rubber hoses?
Thanks
Snip off the damaged section.
Get a length of 1/8" ID rubber VACUUM line and it will fit secure around the hard poly line.
And yes, the original hot water shutoff valve is normally open.
Vacuum signal to close.
