Default Harness Cleanup

ello All.

I am redoing the interior of my car. It is a 1975 coupe. I am trying to fix and eliminate any unnecessary wiring. Wiring is not my forte, but with the help of this forum, I have made some great strides.

I have this module in the back of the drivers wheel well(interior) I believe that this had something to do with the seat belt interlock system. The interlock system was removed by one of the previous owners and is not worth it nor do I want to redo the system. One of the members gave me a schematic to sound off the seat belt alarm and turn on seat belt light. It is perfect for my needs. My questions are:

1. Besides the interlock system, what does this harness control?
2. Can I cut the wires that lead to the box from the harness? would it affect anything?
3. There is also a connector in harness. What is this connector for? Again, can I cut the wires to connector without having any problems.

I am trying to tidy up the car as much as possible and I dont see the need to keep anything that serves no purpose at this time. I appreciate any input or advice.

Thanks for any and all input... Vinnie..

Clean wiring that is exposed so you can see the actual color of each wire.
THEN buy a COLOR wiring diagram for your car/year...it is much easier to read.
If you can get a black/white diagram of all the car harnesses, get one now and take your time .
Refer to the diagram BEFORE you cut any wire/leave enough wire in case you need to reconnect it.

You do not want to create problems by cutting wires that will be hidden unless you are positive what the wire does.

Use to be some wiring harness diagrams in some thread on here, that's what I used when I hacked my 77 harness for weight reductions n clean up. Just checked the pics I have from here and they are for a 77, look like from the manual or something.
