Just went thru Bman's thread on his heim joint struts. And I have a question that is related, but I didn't want to Hijack his thread.
Knowing that the "smart struts" lower the inboard strut attach point by roughly 1 inch, do the strut rods need to be shorter to compensate for the reduced angle? I'm looking at swapping the trailing arms over the winter and while it's down, building a spacer to drop the inboard struts rather than buy a complete smart strut kit that I won't use enough of to justify the cost of that and then additional cost for heim joints.
The heim joints and rods are all available locally from Rod End Supply so that part is easy. I'll make a spacer from 1" 6061-T6 aluminum bar so that part is easy. Same with the alignment. All easy stuff. I just didn't want to get "almost there" and find out it was going to be another trip across town to get the right length tubes.
