Default O-ring brakes

I'm ready to put new brakes on my 74. I was talking to a few people and they told me to just put lip seal calipers on if your going to drive it and the o-ring ones if its going to set. Most people said they didnt notice a difference with the o-ring. Now i dont which to use. I need help

I had http://fixvetteparts.com do my calipers, and now I have brakes that I should have. Sitting, or driving everyday, I would go with these. GM

Hi
Your correct. The lip seals need to be frequently driven . The O-ring calipers claim to stay in shape even if the car is not driven for longer periods.
By the way, the calipers are the same, only difference is the caliper pistons.
You can always change back either way by replacing just the pistons, but keeping your calipers.
I decided to go the O-ring way, but can't tell you right now how they work due to that I just installed them and am waiting for spring. :D

Good luck and happy hollidays. Gunther

Go with O rings...It's an improved technology that is an upgrade over the convention lip and you won't have to worry either way you drive the car!

I too went with VBP O-ring conversion kits. This was about 13 months ago and so far so good. I really don't drive it as much as I should lately--between replacing interior items, various underhood items, etc. but I have no complaints about the O ring conversion.
As someone else mentioned, it's not too big a job to swap back if necessary, just time consuming.

If you enjoy rebuilding your calipers every couple of years use the lip seals.
