Hello again Nsarge,

You will be very happy with the OEM Tank Modules that Holley Makes. Unfortunately I believe that your sending unit is mounted on the top of the fuel tank so I might be worth it to remove the tank and clean it all up and prepare for the installation. I would pull the tank, clean it and paint it while you have the chance.

The early 1968 Corvettes have their tank "fill" on top but the sending unit is mounted on the bottom of the tank. I simply drained the fuel and pulled the sending unit and fuel outlet plate off and replaced it with the new Holley OEM Fuel Tank Module. It took about 20 minutes of work from beginning to where I had 60 p.s.i. at the throttle body. I was very impressed in the quality of the parts, they seemed to work well and the Hydra Mat is a real PLUS as it does what it does better than a standard Sock on the fuel pump. Now when I start my C3 I simply turn the key to "Run" wait a few seconds and crank the engine.

Chris Myer down at EFISYSTEMPRO does know his Holley EFI systems. He is a "Level Three" tech on the Holley EFI systems and they gave me two years of unlimited support because I bought it from them. Chris is a great guy who knows how to help people really well. He gave me his personal contact information in case I have a problem off hours. Wow, where can you get service like that anymore?

I strongly recommend EFISYSTEMPRO to anyone thinking of going to an EFI system. Chris can explain why the Holley System is better than most of the competition. I was looking at the F.I.Tech EFI systems but could not use one with my Hood setup, my hood required a throttle body shaped like a Holley to work with the L88 parts I have. I needed the right orientation and shape to work on my C3 as the parts were all designed around a Holley carburetor used on the L88's. I have the hood and carburetor parts off a 1968 L88 delivered in PA to a gentleman and his buddy who drag raced it. The car was wrecked but they had the hood and carburetor parts that had been taken off the L88 when they put some kind of Tall Intake system popular in the late 1960's.

Actually I already have the sending unit out and it appears as though everything will slip right in from the bottom. The rest of the tank and everything underneath the car looks really good so I don’t believe there’s any need to remove the tank. At least that’s where we are for the moment…

Yes I agree EFI has been very good to work with, and in fact gave some good reasons for using this particular fuel pump sending unit assembly instead of the in-line type. So I’m happy we went this direction even though I’m having to wait.

where oh where has my fuel pump gone…
