Default Door restoration advice

This is where I am on my door restoration. It’s not a total showroom restoration, but I am cleaning everything and replacing what’s needed. I’m thinking I’ll find some of the proper sealant, force it into this separation then clamp until cured. Sound about right?

That sounds like a reasonable plan but I would wonder if you clamp it down if it will change the door/fender gaps or panel alignment?

could be separating from rust on the door frame, or glue failing, Ive used panel bond 3m 08115 and clamped, if its loose in more spots id peel glass skin off and blast metal frame and rebond all. nothing worse then it coming apart more when the cars done

The pic is a bit fuzzy. Is the panel physically separating from the metal structure? If yes, I would carefully, using wooden shims as wedges, open up the gap enough to slide some 80 grit sandpaper in and clean the first couple inches from the lower end. Then use a bonding agent, NOT a sealer, clamping (using a piece of wood on the fiberglass panel) for 48 hours. Then apply a sealant to dress up the channel gap.
