When changing the resistor do you have to get at it from the top and the bottom or just the bottom? Which would mean removing the pax vertical dash panel.
First you should contact Willcox and he will show you how to test it. I changed mine through the access panel
on the side with a few extensions you can do it. After I changed it I wasn’t sure the old one was bad. I still have it.
Mine is a 68 without AC. The resistor is behind the duct, behind the pax dash. I don't think there is an access panel. If I have to remove it to test it, for $26 I'll replace it. My luck I would break the 50 year old part trying to reinstall it.
So,,,,, I got it out. First of all it requires a 5/16 socket. That was hard enough to figure out. Second,,, the resistor wasn't bad. The electrical connectors were just corroded. Sanded them off and the resistor works. Remove the pax side dash so you can get to it from the top and bottom. A stubby ratchet worked perfectly. Now to see how hard it is to install. This is the resistor I am talking about. Not a relay.
It wasn't that bad to install. You can get one hand in the bottom and the other through the top side of the ducting.
