Exterior door handle
I must be losing my mind. I am attempting to remove and replace handles on my 1979. I have the plastic cover out of the way, both bolts that hold the exterior handle in place removed and have the pivot pin and rod removed. The entire handle assembly can wiggle around, but it will NOT come out of the door. I’ve tried prying it out every which way I can think of.

I replaced the drivers side on my 69 this past summer. You say you have both bolts removed, don't you mean you removed the nuts from the studs that are attached to the handle?

I ended up getting the handle out. It turns out the metal rod that the handle and spring rotate on had slid forward about 1/4 inch. It basically created a ledge that couldn’t pass by the fiberglass. I chewed up some fiberglass on the way out, but nothing major that can’t be fixed
