Let's see your driveway!
Hey Guy - how's it going ? Hope you own a plow !!! We do.
Note the 8ft Diamond plow with steel foils on my 89 Buick (last picture).
I don't have 1/4 mile - but 150 feet ain't too shabby -
plus I can fit five cars across the top and still open the doors.
Here is a picture collage of the building of my drive.
It was gravel when I bought it.
Someone with a rock for a head decided to grow an apple tree in front
of one garage door. No-one ever cut it down it 30 years !!!
It sux having apples fall on your car all summer ....
So: I took it upon myself to remove that silly tribute to Arbor Day.
It turns out that there were some big rocks near the surface that needed removal.
We let the workers take it from here. It looks nice all graded out.
The boys and I took a little break. You get hot watching people work in the hot sun.
We made it back from our swim in time to watch 'em lay the asphalt.
Hmmmm ... potential skid pad ? Time to make the donuts !!
Just about done ....
The whole sha-bang:

It was really cool - when they had just about finished up, it started to rain for
a few minutes. It was nice to help cool the asphalt, and it made for a neat

I took some snow pictures yesterday, but I haven't had time to get 'em up into the web, yet.

Dave - Thank goodness we have the Honda tractor with a snow blower on it because the old plow truck became allregic to snow yesterday  . Two valve cover gaskettes, spark plugs, wire and it seems to run great now - until the next storm! I bought an 86 Silverado 2 months ago and the wires were arching and oil was seeping out of the non-existant covers.

 I re-read my post and didn't mean to imply anything when I said that I don't leave the Vettes in the snow  sorry bro! ;) As you can see in the pic, our house has a one-car garage so technically one Vette will stay outside under the shelter (and car cover) once the SB comes back from the paintshop. We are hoping to find a friend or relative that has an available space for us to store the BB this winter so we can work on the SB. It is now almost January so our search has not been going well...mind you, it really hasn't snowed much up hear at all. I actually took the BB out today and drove it on some major streets where all the salt and little pebbles are thrown out to the sides. How I wish I could live in a place where there is nice weather all year round and it snows only on Christmas.

SLICKMAN,
That is INDEED a driveway! Mine is long enough to park 2 cars side by side before you get to the garage :(
However, yours reminds me of the house where I did most of my growing up-
Built on 30 acres w/ a 1/4 mile long driveway. Good thing it wasn't all straight & flat or I wudda made a dragstrip out of it!

You want a driveway, I'll show you a DRIVE way!! 250 ft long!!
Here is mine. 130' deep & 45' at the widest point. I sold my S-10 plow truck 3 years ago and can do the driveway in 45 minutes with my 10hp 30"cut snowblower. Garage is 30'deep X 40' wide. I fit our 2 Vettes, my bride's S-10 Blazer & my full size Chevy 4X4 inside comfortably. A heated garage is SOOOOO nice this time of year.
:seeya Guy!!! NICE HOUSE & GARAGE(S)!!!!!

Thanks Guy
Thanks Bob
Bob - you haven't even seen the back of the house. We border a good sized
horse farm. I was looking out my back yard at the horses running around
this morning - so cool. Now, I need to ressurect the old skiing rope-tow
that a previous owner had setup behind my house.
Guy - I was gonna comment on your sprawling ranch, also. Nice setup with
a garage at each end. Now you need another vette - one for each side.
