Default How much weight is dropped?

I'm changing to Alum heads and intake. Sanden AC compressor instead of the A6. Slim crossflow AC condenser and a Dewits Alum Rad. Putting a twin fan setup from a C5 Vette. Dougs SS headers. Replacing all the original cast iron and copper/brass stuff. How much weight do you think it will all drop? Enough to change the ride height? Should I start thinking of cutting the front springs?

Thanks

Hi Jarhead. Sounds pretty similar to my 77. Aluminium heads and intake, All smog stuff gone. Aluminium Rad. Twin electric fans. Sanden compressor, Etc.
Yup, I cut one full coil off of my factory gymkhana springs..
It was higher in the front than the rear. Now I'm sitting at 27 1/2 inches at the arch of the wheel opening.

I installed coil-overs to dial in the ride height.

Did that change handling or ride quality much? Which ones did you use?

I used Aldan American with single adjustable shocks. I called them, gave the information on the modifications I made and they did the rest. I can control the height and ride quality. I love them.

You are going to lose about 100 pounds (gives you another .10 in the quarter mile). Since you don’t mind making mods and not to spend your money, but I would recommend converting the front to a coilover and single adjustable shock like a QA1 or Alden. It’s not just the spring but shock rate that needs some attention.

Hey Dan, hope all is going well with you and Happy New Year. Looks like you are busy with the vette. Is there a shop doing the work by chance?
