Custom dash speaker grills
Has anyone ever tried to press-fit some metal 4x6 speaker grills into the dash pad to cover the rotten perforated speaker holes? My dash pad is in good shape other than some of the speaker holes have cracks and one or two have broken out altogether. I'm replacing those speakers soon and was thinking about cutting out the small holes altogether for better sound transfer and then trying to cover them with some metal grills? Maybe velcoring some grills to the dash might work somehow? Has anyone ever attempted this and has had success? I just saw a video on youtube where someone cut a rectangle hole into the dash and placed magnets in there to hold down some custom grills that covered the hole and looked great. I'll post a link to that video and if anyone knows where I can find some grills like those let me know. Also, let see some pics of y'alls stereo system installs and custom speaker cabinets.
