I got these door/courtesy switches from Zip Corvette. The "door ajar" ones are the same configuration. I have not seen a door switch like this with a plastic thing on the end. So, how is the ground wire supposed to connect?
What am I missing? Doing a complete rewire with an AAW kit so, I can do whatever is needed. I do not have the original switches to compare what they looked like or, how they connected. Every other GM door switch I have seen either has a mini spade or, barrel type connection.
No ground wire. they ground through the body of the switch directly to the door frame. Remove the plastic shipping protector and white wire should plug onto the end.
Nothing more.

Yeah I know that the ground is through the frame but, the wire that grounds the light circuit attaches to the switch. That is not a shipping protector on the switch it is part of the switch plunger and does not come off.
These are the terminals that connect the wires to those switches. All the vendors sell these. You are right, that is not a plastic protector and does not come off!

What year are you describing? There were spade-style switches and pin-style switches...sounds like you're working to install a spade style in a pin-style configuration. In 73-74, began to use the spade style. The two pages are from the NCRS tech manuals 73-74 and 75-77...see if this helps.
