Um, there is a connector up in the left hand quarter panel that connects the fuel sender. Get your head up in the left rear quarter panel. It's a 2 wire connector. one is ground the other the sender wire. The ground will be black , the sender is tan or light brown by memory.
Connect the tan wire on the side going to the gauge to a good ground. Watching your gauge as you do it. (or have a helper) Sender can be checked off the other side of the connector with a ohm meter and a friend hooking and raising the float. 90 ohm sending unit.
