Whilst rushing to finally start the rebuilt engine I made a big oopsie.
I hooked up the battery inversed and fried the ignition module of my HEI.
What other components can I expect to be fubar?
Alternator? Ignition coil?
Really bummed, would've loved to finally hear the engine.
Would think you would have fried the fusible links. thus protecting your HEI and other components. However, a HEI didn't come in a 71 so who knows how you have it wired. Check your main fusible link at the starter solenoid for damage first. Get a battery in it and start checking circuits.
Yeah, it's on my to do list.
Together with a battery cutoff. Don't k ow why they removed it in the first place, all wiring is new from 2011.
I hope the alternator survived it though. I'll order a module locally and pray lol.
Can't get over how stupid I was not to take a quick look under the car to verify.
