Is there a minimum amount of vacuum needed to supply the wiper door and head light motors the reason I am asking is my new motor will only make about 4'' of idle vacuum will that fill the vacuum tank in 10 minutes or so.
or convert to electric motors for the wiper door and lights.
Well if I am going to change stuff around I will just go with the l88 fia head light set up which I really like or just run a small electric pump to be the the vacuum source instead of the engine already replaced and rebuilt all vacuum lines and everything works great .
i can open or close 1 headlight by hooking the hose to the actuator and playing 20 dollar *****. a human lung can barely generate 2 inches of vacuum. i can't do both lights at once. so not much vacuum is needed. as long as everything is tight. no leaks and no obstructions. most cams should be able to handle lights, wiper doors, heater controls and power brakes. one-way valves are crucial. must work correctly.

Hella makes a nice rotary vein pump, "fairly quiet" with the engine running but it only runs a short time. Hook it in line with the stock system as an assist with lots of one way valves and it will make your system run great.
Sumit has an affordable sselection and it should come with a vacuum level shutoff wswitch that usually cuts off around 15 inches of vacuum. The system runs okay at 12 inches.
thanks guys my vacuum system has been rebuilt and I am going with a vintage ac and heat which is all electric and I called my engine builder today and asked them again how much vacuum and they said about 4'' and the location I am at which is way lower in elevation should give me a little more .
