Default Distributor Recurving Machines. Where?

I live in a city of about one million people. I want a 1979 L-82 distributor recurved. And Lars is not an option; shipping is too expensive. Do you think I could find a shop with a recurving unit? No.....but there might be one about 50 miles away  . Where did these machines disappear to?

I would find the guy in town that rebuilds distribeuters, waterpumps, carbs etc... call him up and see if they have one...

Or have lars send you his springs

The guys who bebuild are gone. The guys who replace are here. I have a Moroso spring and weight set. As well as the GM originals. I just need the proper combination of weight and spring for a 1979 L-82. Perhaps Lars has the magic combination that is better than Moroso; I do not know.

Any shop who does Dyno Tuning will have one. We charge $140 plus parts to do them off the car.

I had mine done locally for 50 bucks on a sun machine. It was 8 years ago though

Lars is still taking distributors? Hmm, I might need to send him mine. Any more info?

You don't need no steenking recurve machine!

Do you have an advance timing light and a copy of Lars timing paper? That'll get you started, and probably make you happy. Beyond that, just dig up one of Lars recruve kits -- that'll make you happier.

Paul look in your local phone directory or online for a sun dealer . They sell and service the equip . I'm pretty sure you could locate a shop with a machine through them . Good luck
