Horn

1972 tilt/telescopic. Anyone have any idea why the horn would only work when the steering wheel is turned to the left or right? It wont work when centered. I have removed and cleaned all of the parts that are mounted on top of the steering wheel just under the button/cover. All of these parts move with the wheel so im guessing something is going under this area. Does the contact spring make contact with the lower contact spring? Reckon the lower spring is the problem?

Here's a complete analysis I did when fixing my horn. I just couldn't figure it out with all the disparate info so I created my own.

Your problem could be a number of things. The horn button retainer may be out of alignment so it only contacts when turning.
