Default 1969 wheel well flap missing

Greetings all. I have a 69 convertible and I notice that there is a flap over the wheel that blocks water coming into the engine bay on the passenger side but not on the driver side. The flap on the passenger side is held on by plastic plugs and I can see indentions on the driver side where holes could be drilled to install a flap. Is this the way it was designed? Should I install a flap on the driver side? Take a look at the two photos I'm attaching. Thanks in advance for your input.

Passenger side.

Driver side.

surprised one is still there. they deteriorate and when they get beat and only 1 rivet holding them people toss em figuring they are gonna stay out of the rain anyway. or replace the 2 together with a matching set.

They are available from Corvette restoration parts vendors. Bought a set for the 68.

You're lucky it's not a 68. The flaps were stapled in. Had to use the 69 style on my 68 since I didn't have staple tools.

That probably means you have a replacement inner fender. Either because the car was damaged on that side or the original was hacked up for some reason. Drill the holes and replace both with the kit from any of the major vendors.

Yes, you’re right, now that I dig deeper, I found Ecklers stickers on the inside of the two front fenders. Thank you.
