Car has issues starting when warm. Turns over a few times, but if it does not immediately start, will stop turning over as if the battery is dead. Tested the battery, shows 12.2 volts.
Replaced starter and alternator.
The issue is random. Will operate fine for a few days, then suddenly won't start
You say you tested the battery. Not sure how you did that but it needs to be load tested. If you didn't test it this way, or have the tool to do so, Autozone, Advance, etc. will do it for free. It may or may not be the problem but it's a good place to start. I wouldn't suggest replacing parts (ever) w/o knowing what the problem is. That can get rather expensive in both $ and time. Good luck.
You are thinking Solenoid?
You replaced the starter, but not the Solenoid?
Like Jud said, Volts don't crank engines, Amps do. (load-test) I know its not fun pulling the battery, but its a much needed test right now.
Also,
90% of these no start issues are ****-poor GRDs somewhere. There are several, and you can bet they all need a removal, wire brushed and reinstalled.
It was the electrical part of the ignition switch that caused this issue on my car. Have you tried bypassing the system and "jumping" the connections at the starter motor to see if the car will turn over?
