anyone know what is for or where it could go? Im starting to think my car had a 4 speed swap or a automatic replacement wiring harness put in. There is another connector that has yellow and purple wires, I’ve read that is for a neutral safety switch on auto’s.
My 79 is an automatic. I have the same type unused connector under my dash where the clutch pedal would be. GM installed both connectors in the harness.

I think I misread your question. The green and blue connector I believe is for the backup lights on an automatic car. The purple and yellow connector is for neutral safety switch.
do your B/U lights work?
GM built 1 Main Dash Harness for the 79 Corvette to except ALL provisions so there may be connectors & lamp(s) not used.
Looking at the 79 wiring diagram the LT.GRN & DK.BLU "L" shape 2 wire connector would be for the backup lamps for a automatic.
The PPL & YEL "T" shape 2 wire connector would be for the Neutral Safety Switch for a automatic.
