Default Torques for Upper Control Arm Shaft Bushing Bolts

The AIM for my '71 isn't clear to me on this.

Page 3-A2 shows that the LOWER Control Arm Shaft end bolts should be torqued to 45-55 LBS-FT with a note to tighten with suspension compressed to height at which geometry is set.

However there is no such data for the UPPER Control Arm shaft end bolts. Am I correct to assume that the values & note should apply to BOTH upper & lower control arm shafts??

Thanks

Paul

45-55 foot pounds for 79..and it sure seemed like a lot on that size bolt.
on my tight area on upper could only get a small wrench on the fronts so they are finger bruised tight.

The arms were supplied as assemblies which is why they don't call out the bolts / torque like "normal"
Remember to tighten with the suspension at ride height
I also couldn't get a torque wrench onto the front-passenger bolt so tighten the crap out of it (and loctite)

C2 has basically the same suspension. 1963 Service Manual has 45-55 for the lower end bolts (page 3-11) and 35-40 for the upper end bolts (page 3-12).

FWIW, 72 Chassis manual had the uppers at 60, AIM was 45-55 ft-lb
With loctite and new bolts I went 45 on a clicker everywhere I could

Thanks-you Interpon. I see that page also just references the lower shaft end bolts (Z & 4) - nothing for the upper shaft

Thanks Mooser, surprised there was a difference between the AIM and Chassis Manual.

Thanks - Maybe they found the different torques for upper & lower weren't really necessary and they just went with a common value for the C3s. I guess it can't hurt to use a bit less on the uppers. At least it may be easier to see if any of the upper bolts start to back out...

Thanks again all!
