Breaking fuel line connection at fuel pump
My original thread was posted to Cars for sale so here goes again. I have had zero luck breaking the fitting that goes into the mechanical fuel pump. Open end and line wrenches are useless. I tried Vice Grips no luck either. Applied heat to the fitting using an electric heat gun still no luck. I thought about using a die grinder but sparks and gasoline can be scary. The steel fitting has to come off first and then the brass fitting is removed and a 90Deg. 6N fitting is installed. I am running a flex line from that point up to a fuel filter that has 6N male ends. The filter connects to the Edelbrock banjo line. I previously had a rubber gas line that was pushed on to the original steel line with a hose clamp and more rubber lines pieced together for the filter and then a hose clamp at the inlet connection to the Edelbrock carb. Too many connections, waiting for a disaster. Comments Please!!! Thanks

I would remove the 2 rubber lines, (feed and return) Remove 4 bolts holding pump and plate. remove pump from car. Get the pump in a vise and have at it where you can get at it properly. Then reinstall the pump with new gaskets.
