How do I replace this emblem?
Giving my car a deep clean and polish and want to remove and replace the L82 emblems on the hood. One nut I can get to but the other is up behind a panel on the hood. I can feel it with my fingers but I don't think I could ever get to it. There's a hole but it's not in line with the other nut. Short of taking the hood apart anybody gat any ideas or solutions?
I would imagine that a "offset" ratcheting gear-wrench might be able to reach on and remove the nut. Getting it back on will be the tough challenge. That would be my first tool I would try or if that doesn't fit a pair of needle nose pliers with an offset tip would be the second choose.
Did you actually feel the nut or just the stud? It may not have a nut on it. For '72s, the Stingray side emblems were attached with paper-peel adhesive and have no nuts on the studs.
