Default Question about heads.

So I have a forged 4 bolt 454 .030 over, block casting number 10114182. I'm looking for oval port heads that fit it. Seems like from what I've read that there are issues with water jacket holes lining up and piston clearence problems. It's been a long time since I've messed with big blocks. Putting this in a 1929 Model A. My curent toy is an LS7 ZO6, I'm more comfortable with it.
Please help if you can. And if you have anything for sale that will fit that's good too.

Thanks

that is a gen 5 block. most gm heads will work with it with correct head gaskets. what do you want that Model A to do. look like a pup or get that cadillac sedan to pull over and let you by? L29 late oval heads are great for everything BUT screaming through the traps at 7000 rpm. many aftermarket large oval aluminum heads will get you 600 hp pretty easy and look good too. the 049 and 781 early oval port heads and older 215 heads may be a partial mismatch with that block. i would prefer you got a gen 6 bottom end so you have the factory roller cam setup. that gen 5 is ok, but not a very desirable starting point. the other advantage of 96-02 L29 heads are 40 years less wear, hammering on and butchers modding them...

Any Mark 4 head OEM or aftermarket will bolt on a Gen 5 block with the conversion head gaskets from Fel-Pro or Victor/Dana.....
The other consideration is the piston dome to head clearance......you cannot put an open chamber dome with a closed chamber head....but you can put a closed chamber piston with an open chamber head.

How much power do you want to make? Even cleaned up Peanut Port truck heads make 450 horses pretty easy......I doubt you are going to want more to push a Model A around......
