Default Installing New Transcooler Lines

Hello everyone,

I am replacing the transmission lines on my '80 Vette with braided transmission line opposed to the solid metal lines because they were in the way of my headers. The stock solid lines were routed on top of the control arm and were obviously stationary since they were solid. I got the braided lines installed the other day and I am not sure where to route them or how to hold them in place. I tried to route them through the control arm like the stock ones, but they is no way to hold them in place and they were falling into the springs, and you obviously can't have that happening. What am I suppose to do? I could probably route them under the crossmember and around, but even then I have no way to hold them up tight and in place on the crossmember.

TIA

I ran mine fairly close to the engine block. I was able to find a few bolts and/or holes along the way to use some rubber cushioned hose clamps like these:

I had a few of these clamps that I was able to bend into a shape to contain both lines at the same time. I was also able to use some plastic wire ties in a couple of places.

Y'all got any pictures. I was thinking of routing my braided hose outboard also....but if it's easier then I'll just go along the engine block/oil pan.

This is the only pic I have at the moment.

You can make out the lines behind the headers. I don't know if this was easier but based on the lengths of the lines that came with my 4L60E kit, it was the best option for me.

I'll try to take some more pics next time I'm under the car.

Thanks. Those pics would be great. Do the rubber coated clamps bolt onto the oil pan?

No, I didn't use any oil pan bolts but can't remember where I did use the clamps. Seems like there was a threaded hole in the block I could use and one on the front cross member. I do remember having a threaded bolt hole on the side of the transmission where I could place one of the clamps. I'm pretty busy this weekend but if I catch a break, I'll see if I can verify the clamp locations and maybe get a few more pics.
