I put on my new Edelbrock heads and took my sensors out my old heads until I realized they are to small for my new heads, and noticed that each side was different,so curious what’s the difference in them and any particular sensor to go with thanks.
You don't say what year and your profile doesn't have jack for info.
Go to the willcox website and find the sensor you need. They sell small 3/8" units for specific years and 1/2" originals. Go eyeball that.
While you're at it order the appropriate adjustable resistor for your year.

You can also move the big sender to the intake manifold hole and then use the adjustable resistor to dial in your gauge.
I wish you had said something earlier.
I caught that water port diameter difference before installing the head.
Took my aluminum head to a machine shop. Drilled & tapped for the GM sensor, $30 labor.
Didn't the 81 come with 3/8" temp sender thread size?
Are you saying that the sender holes in your new heads are larger than the actual senders from your old heads?
