Guys,
anyone here use a mechanical fan with their Camaro/ZZ4/GMPP Style serpentine kit?
some have said a Jeep fan and fan clutch will work. But has anyone tried the plastic Silverado fan GM part 15024813? It’s a 19” reverse rotation plastic fan.
Also, check out this compressor, it’s an updated scroll design for the A4 https://www.rockauto.com/en/moreinfo.php?pk=8582356&jsn=253.
March Performance makes a serpentine conversion that allows you to use the mechanical fans. I have one of their kits on my 1968 C3 and I used the mechanical fan for years before switching over to dual electric fans and a DeRale PWM Electric cooling fan Controller. The March Performance parts look very nice on the car when installed as they have all the details covered. It came with covers for the inside of the pulleys and nice strong brackets. Mine is about 20+ years old and their Powder coating was the only issue I ever had with them. My system was supposed to look like polished aluminum and doers when clean. They also offer the option of AC brackets which I didn't need since I have a non-air Corvette.
i have one on my 01 gmc savana-chevy express van. 5.7 vortec. looks like a corvette clutch fan. but the blades face opposite direction and there are more blades and bigger diameter. they should be cheap and easy to find.

I've recently begun to consider the GMPP serpentine kit.
I don't see why the stock fan hub and clutch couldn't be used, with a reverse rotation fan of the proper size.
As long as the fan fits the bolt pattern on the front of the fan clutch, and it fits into the radiator shroud properly, and pulls air from front to back, you should have no problems. It's just a fan, your radiator doesn't care which way it's spinning as long as it pulls air through the radiator. If your 'vette has the 3/4" pilot on the front of the hub, instead of the more common 5/8", you'll need to make sure the clutch fits it, unless you use an adapter, which you may find is necessary anyway in order to get the fan far enough into the shroud.

Scotty
well, yea ….
To ask another way. With the long water pump of the serpentine setup, is there a reverse rotation fan and fan clutch that fits the stock shroud and doesn’t punch a hole in the radiator.
My idea is to replace the long pump in the kit with the short pump I linked.
Then hopefully find a short pump serpentine pulley, the factory fan hub should then work with the shroud and radiator.

Sorry I wasn't explicit.
The water pump was inlet is at the wrong angle and would have to hack the brackets, plus then I’ll need a totally custom water pump pulley would be needed…
FYI: for all, Hayden makes short fan clutches that could make up some of the difference with the long pump. Just need a reverse rotation fan, preferably plastic/nylon/composite …
