I’ve been dealing with a battery drain issue, and have read several times to make sure that the wiper override switch is in the “off” position, and I want to make sure I have mine set correctly. If I’m looking up at it from the floor, do I turn it clockwise or counterclockwise to turn it off properly, to prevent any possible drain? Thanks!

the best way to find the drain is to disconnect your battery and hook up a multimeter in line with the positive post and main cable and set it to amps. it would read close to zero with the key off. If you have a drain it will read anywhere from a few millamps to an amp or 2 depending on fast your drain is. If its at zero then turn your key back (CCW ) to ACC only position and see if it jumps. IF it does Go to your fuse panel and pull the fuses that are serviced by that setting when you get to the draining circuit you will see the reading drop, If it isnt in that position turn it CW to the run position, not start you will melt your meter and its wires. In the RUN position do the same thing.
I went down to Connecticut 4 or 5 years ago to help Mike figure out his drain. THe passenger courtesy light would pull some amps but not light the bulb with the door shut. Open the door and the bulb lights. Pulled the bulb and it went to zero amps. Still cant figure that one out
Thanks. I appreciate the responses. These drains can be a pain to figure out. You have to be a contortionist just to pull the fuses.
One of the biggest PITA things on the early c3's in my opinion. I have 2 68's and this drives me crazy. Get some nail polish and put a mark ( or two )for on or off. Only way I can remember after a long time never using it. So much fun to get ready for a drive only to find a dead battery.
