Those wheels and the nose mods look fantastic on your Vette. What's not to love about 74's?

Hey - 74Roadster...

Tell me about your front grill? Is that the stock set-up with the front plate-filler or some custom billet job? I can't tell from the pics, but it does look spiffy!

Thanks in advance,

Thanks for the compliments!!!!!! 73 & 74 verts are certainly my favorite.

74FLCONV, I made the grill myself. Forum member MIKER has a plasma cutter and helped me cut and modify the lower brackets to mount the new grill. After getting 8 T6 aluminum bars cut to match a mock up I built, I clamped them all together, sanded them all to match and then worked each bar individually and finally polished each one. I built a wood jig to hold everything in place so another guy could weld it all together. The guy was good at welding aluminum but he didn't do the show car quality type work I wanted. The brackets aren't square and a couple of the bars warped a tad under the heat. The nose itself is just a fiberglass repo that I modded to open up the whole nose.

All-in-all, a great learning experience for me . . . although I plan to build another one down the road. I'm one of those guys who's real f'ing nit-picky and extremely ****.

I'm still laying flagstone around that D'mn fountain! :mad The holidays slowed me down quite a bit, should be nice weather this weekend and hopefully I'll shake this nasty cold I have. After the fountain, can you say "CUSTOM GARAGE CABINETS"?

I'm 70% complete on my garage cabinet/workbench layout design so that's next. Then I'll finally tackle the AC system in my car.

Have you got your car all polished out and all of the trim reinstalled? Sure would like to see a new show quality pic of your car! :yesnod: :yesnod:

i have installed the bubble lights, the rear side markers, and this week the front side markers and grilles with front signals. i dont have any other trim done because there are a few blemishes in the paint, and i dont want to fix them until we are ready to repaint a couple spots. namely the front spoiler because we used the wrong primer and it chipped pretty bad. i still have to buy the rear windshield molding and a few other things. the clear coat shrunk up alot so ive got some pretty decent orange peel, but a good wetsanding and buffing will make the paint look like glass again. thanks for the compliment. hopefully our cars will soon be side by side stopping car shows. until the next mod anyway :D
