Hi all,
looking at doing some work on the vette during our winter (Australia) and I'm trying to source the corner mouldings used on the windscreen of a 68 Convertible.
I am finding it difficult to locate anyone who stocks these items. Any leads anyone can provide?
Mine are showing a fair bit of wear, and the right latch did let go once on a high speed test run.
those are not reproduced, you will have to find originals and will have the same wear as yours most likely
the later one pc chrome corners also work but the windshield has to be removed, that's a 68 only part
Those are from a early production car. They are not available after market. The are worth their weight in gold to someone looking for them. I have the same on my October 1967 production car. It's a 68. I had mine re-plated at a local shop. I suggest you do the same. It is pieces like these that make our cars unique. Good luck with your build. Mine took me over 8 years.

There is significant wear of the base material where the latch made contact.
Not sure whether that can be filled effectively.
Any advice?

all the ones I have seen are like that including mine. I am not convinced those are ware marks. Pretty uniform marks. Mine work fine and yours look no worse than mine. Besides you will be hard pressed to fine replacements. From what I see, no need to fill.
I had my upper corners repaired and replated by a place called "Wizards" they specialise in repairing vintage Automotive trim parts like this. They repair and replate all types of pot metal and such. Things other places just don't do. They built mine back up with copper. then re plated them. Only issue I had was on the inside they had built them up a bit. (doesn't show, but has to fit the windshield frame and centre trim.) I had to file the insides a bit. But they look beautiful and they filled in the gouges.
Wizards is just north of Brisbane.

As I started reading your post, I was about to reply that I didn't live in the US of A.
Awesome that we have someone he in the Land of Oz that can do that.
I will follow up on them.
So the question I have now is, what is the shape of original unworn part.
part.Does the scalloped indent maintain same contour to the outside edge?
Aaron's car.
His are worn as well. However, note rubber tip on latch in second photo. Aaron says this is a 69 up part as 68's were metal on metal. This 69 up part However fits on your 68 latch. Making it more secure and slowing the wear.
He says his top is high speed secure with the 69 tips.
