I completed insulating yesterday and am ready to install the carpet. Who do you guys recommend I buy my carpet set from? There seems to be a broad price range from abot $120 to $200. I want quality stuff that will last and fit right but don't want to pay an outrageous price when the cheaper is the same stuff. Also I have a question about something I found while insulating the rear hatch area. Attached to the inner part of both wheel humps (inside the car) are brackets about 3 inches high and have a whole through the top for something attach to them. I didn't take the interior out of the car and much or the rear compartment was missing. What attaches to these? I have seen some rear compartments of coups but none for convertibles and these do not seem to be there. If you can post some detailed pics of the rear compartment area of a 70-72 convertible I would really appreciate it. Thanks for the help.
I can't remember who I got my carpet set from but I fit perfectly and I was very pleased with it. I'll look in my records and find who I go it from....I think it was CC. If I read you right, the brackets you are talking about are for shoulder harnesses. In the early 70's shoulder harnesses were options for convertibles. Look in your rear wheel wells and your should see a sheet metal bracket with a nut welded to it there also. The brackets you are referring to (I think) are for the rear quarter panel trim that extended out and attached to the brackets to hide the seatbelt retract mechanism.

You might want to do a search. ACC makes the carpet that is sold by many of the vendors. I got mine from non-supporting vendor and I am sure their name WILL come up in a search. There was a poll done about 6 weeks ago in interior suppliers.
I would say check ebay for the carpet.I will give you this advice on the rear compartment doors,Buy the replacemnt assembly. It is much easier than trying to get your other doors to work with new carpet and frames.I dont know why but they never seem to fit the same. The last three interiors that I have done,I bought the assemblys and have been alot happier with it. :seeya
Thanks for the advice paintdaddy. I am going to have to buy the assembly anyway because the guy who owned the car before me either didn't know what he was doing when he removed the interior or didn't care. :mad The frame was ripped into about 8 peices and the doors were busted. Most of the interior was already removed and in boxes. When I look back at some of the pictures I took of it when I bought it I wander "What was I thinking!??"
