hood latch won't release
I've been working on these cars for 40+ years and have never run across this one. My friend painted his 1980 coupe and is re-assembling the car. We put the hood on. lined it up pretty close and closed the hood. now the drivers side releases, but the passenger side doesn't. It has air conditioning so i can't reach the latch on the passenger side from the bottom. Has anyone experienced this before?

there are many threads about stuck hoods. they do you no good. all are 76-earlier hoods. completely different setup. 77-up latch is a big improvement. but nothing is perfect. the left-to-right cable is on the car, not the hood. you may be able to reach up anywhere between bell housing and inner fender at the firewall and grab it. pulling towards left side should release it. here is an ebay ad for emerg release that shows the right latch on the car that may help as visual aid. https://www.ebay.com/itm/16433151064...xoCAfMQAvD_BwE
