Default '77 AC Q....

Anyone know the secret to tightening the nut on the high pressure AC hose under the right fender? I can see it from the bottom and through the side vent, but there is no way of me getting a wrench on it
Thanks--JC

I am not sure what nut you are trying to tighten, but I know it is tight in that area. On A/C connections, it is always good to hold a backup (which makes it even more difficult). Sorry, I can't help. Maybe if you have an old wrench that fits you can cut the handle to give you more room.

If you're referring to the connection at the bottom of the drier, I found you have to pre-tighten that fitting before installing the drier as there is no way to get at it with a wrench once installed. If you have a loose fitting there, it means you've lost your pressure and should replace the drier anyway as it is probably toast from being exposed to atmospheric humidity.

Some time ago (when working on the AC was higher on my list), I asked the same question and was told that I might be able to get to that nut with a "crow's foot" wrench.

Even though I'm probably going to replace the drier, if you manage to get to it, please post how, I'd be very interested to know.

Good Luck.

I just installed a new receiver/drier and sure enough, a crows foot is what you need to work in this tight area just inside the pass side shark vent.
