At a stoplight I saw this SUV with the nicest set of chrome rims, and when it stopped the wheels kept spinning. How do these work and where can I score a set. (no :bs, they kept spinning and yes i was sober
Re: Where do you get the spinning wheels? (screechywheels)
Oh my God...I saw those on a new T-Bird the other day. The guy driving thought he was too cool for school. I couldn't help but laugh (out loud)! Describing them as "gay" would be an insult to gay people everywhere...I would rather be caught wearing women's clothes in a big-winged Honda Civic...I would rather sell my Vette and walk backwards for my remaining years than be seen in a car with these...
I hope you aren't serious about ruining your car, :U but if you are, you go:

Davinwheels.com also makes these. davins are the ones that go for 10 grand and are very limited in quanity. personally i like these rims, but they are too heavy, and too bulky for vettes. i aslo think they are kind of cheesy. on the right vehicle they look ok, but a vette isnt the right vehicle. IMHO  how they work is pretty simple. there is an outside rim that is connected to the inner rim via roller bearings. inertia keeps the wheels moving at a stop. and keeps them from moving at a start.
Re: Where do you get the spinning wheels? (screechywheels)
I first heard about them from Sprewell Racing. I personally think theyre pretty cool, but theyre a fortune. I saw a kit going for something liek 4 grand. I hope you have a fat wallet if you want those wheels.
Why would anyone ever want to drive a ricer civic while crossdressing over riding on these rims. I would rather drive a winged golf cart than a civic. And these rims on any car BESIDES a ricer gets my first choice.

That's my point. I WOULDN'T cross-dress and drive a Civic.
And, yes, these rims are tacky. You're 16. You'll learn the difference between "bling-bling" and "class" as you mature (and so will the women you date).
Re: Where do you get the spinning wheels? (screechywheels)
If theyre heavy wheels then you would sacrifice performance. I for one would never sacrifice performance for looks or pizzaz. especially for that price!!! I havnt seen em yet. Im sure I will sooner or later. im sure they would attract attention. My car already attracts enough attention without cheesy stuff like that though. Thats my opinion. Not to put anyone down since we're all entitled to our own.
Re: Where do you get the spinning wheels? (screechywheels)
They show them on Cribs (MTV show where they show famous people house), the rappers all love them.
Lot of high dollar car on that show, so many of them talk about their performance cars and how fast they are. They never show them laying rubber though, till one of them got in a older chevelle with a 454.
Re: Where do you get the spinning wheels? (Tominator)
I saw that! "Cribs Auto Edition"...two of the, err...umm...gentlemen had Aston Martins and kept calling them "Austin Martins"...could you imagine having enough change in your pocket to buy an Aston but not be able to pronouce the name? God, I wish I were that stoopid-rich!
